The Railway Recruitment Cell of Southern Railway, Chennai is recruiting 17 posts under the Scouts and Guides Quota for 2026-27, spread across Southern Railway divisions and the Integral Coach Factory in Pay Levels 1 and 2. This is a regular central government recruitment open only to candidates holding recognised scouting qualifications, and selection combines a written examination with an assessment of scouting certificates and event participation. As on 01.01.2027: 18-30 years for Level-2 posts and 18-33 years for Level-1 posts (UR), with age relaxation applicable for OBC, SC/ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen as per rules.
A President's Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge certificate, with active membership of a recognised scouts organisation for the last 5 years, and attendance at at least two state-level and two national (or All-India Railway-level) events.
Rs. 500 for general candidates (Rs. 400 is refunded after appearing in the examination) and Rs. 250 for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/female/transgender/minorities/EBC candidates (Rs. 250 refunded). Payment is online only.
