The Staff Selection Commission has released the updated category-status lists for the Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026 on 23 October 2026 on the official website ssc.gov.in (Notice No. HQ-C-3/2/2026-C-3, dated 23.10.2026). The Commission declared the original PET/PST shortlist on 12 October 2026; after receiving representations about the categories shown in List-I (Female) and List-II (Male), it has now uploaded detailed lists — List-I: Female candidates (Result file 2.30 MB) and List-II: Male candidates, other than SSF (Result file 25.82 MB) — showing both the actual category under which each candidate applied and the category against which they were considered (candidates who applied under SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM but qualified on UR standards had been reflected as UR in the earlier lists). All other terms and conditions of the CBE result remain unchanged. In the Computer Based Examination held from 27.04.2026 to 30.05.2026, 21,56,776 candidates appeared; 15,782 female and 181,251 male candidates were provisionally shortlisted for PET/PST (plus 375 male candidates shortlisted against All-India vacancies of SSF).

The Staff Selection Commission uploaded detailed category-status lists for the Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026 PET/PST shortlist: List-I — Female candidates provisionally shortlisted for appearing in PET/PST (Result file 2.30 MB) and List-II — Male candidates provisionally shortlisted for appearing in PET/PST other than SSF (Result file 25.82 MB), together with a write-up notice dated 23.10.2026 (Notice No. HQ-C-3/2/2026-C-3). The notice appears on the ssc.gov.in homepage Notice Board (marked “New”, Oct 23, 2026) and in the Result section.
SSC declared the original result on 12 October 2026 and received representations about the categories shown in List-I (Female) and List-II (Male). The 23 October notice explains that candidates who had applied under the SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM categories but qualified on UR standards were reflected as UR in the earlier lists; the new detailed lists show both the actual category applied under and the category considered against. All other terms and conditions of the CBE result remain unchanged.
Per the official 12 October 2026 result notice: 15,782 female candidates (List-I), 181,251 male candidates (List-II, other than SSF), plus 375 male candidates shortlisted against All-India vacancies of SSF. In total, 21,56,776 candidates had appeared in the Computer Based Examination (27.04.2026–30.05.2026). The official notices do not state a total vacancy figure.
